22 & 30 Caliber Bullets
« on: March 17, 2003, 04:03:00 PM »
Thanks for the information on Zinc.
Another question about cast bullets in 22 &30 caliber. Does anyone shoot Lyman bullets #'s 225646, 311646, 311284?? I'm going to use the 22 in .223 and the 30 calibers in 308 and 30x338. Any information about casting, lube/sizing, or loading these bullets in these cartridges would be appreaiciated. Thank you

I shoot the 311284 in several 30-06 rifles with good results. I water drop the bullets cast of WW, Size them to .312, with Hornady GC. I Lube them with 50/50 Alox/Beeswax, and Lee Liquid Alox. I find the best accuracy for my combination to be 1800 to 1850fps. I like Alliant RE-7, IMR 4895, 4759, And Hodg BLC-2 as propellants. 311284 may be a bit long for a .308 case, I'd Like to know how they shoot for you.
