Robar Metal Finishes
« on: January 31, 2006, 02:21:21 PM »
I was thinking about sending my Sig P220ST to have Robar's NP3 Metal finish put on inside and out.  Any opinions on their metal finishes?  What about the price for a complete application ($250); is it worth it?  Thanks.

I know cops that have had their Glock uppers done, and know others that have had their SIG slides done. In fact, I think SIG 220s were some of the first guns Robbie ever did with NP3. The stuff is awesome. Wipes clean with a cloth, self lubricating, etc. You sure of the price? Sounds like it went up since last time I checked. Wouldn't a hunting rifle done in that stuff be nice  :-)  if a guy could afford it!

My SIG rusted in a matter of hours when I got off a plane in a tropical climate. The agency shoved a Glock down my throat shortly thereafter so I sold the SIG and never sent it off to Robar. If I could carry a personally owned gun again that wasn't stainless, you bet I'd send it for NP3

Hi RR, good to hear from you again.

I think a rifle or shotgun coated in that stuff would be just amazing.   I'm pretty sure the price is right; I'll put the URL for their pricelist in (it is a .PDF file.)

Sounds like something to do when I get enough put aside for it.  :)
