My father hunts with a pre 64 model 70 super grade 250-3000. We had always figured it was a valuable gun....maybe close to the 2 thousand range, but recently from talking to some guys....the value may be much much higher. Any one have any clue what this gun might be worth. It is extremely heavy, is engraved with some pretty lavish designs, has a serial number that starts with 44, and is worn but not damaged whatsoever. I know pre 64s are rare, and super grades are rare, and the 250-300 is a rare caliber, so maybe it is worth a good deal? I was told if it is winchester engraved the price could be through the roof....is there a way to tell???
