It's obviously made by Traditions and an import with Remingtons name on it. I'll call it a "Remditions".  Here it is, if you get the PDF you will need to use the magnifying glass unless you have super eyesight.

Click on the different models on the right.
http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/muzzleloaders/

You will need the magnifying glass for this one, but will give you the skinny.

Why any company would want thier name on these imported tinker toys is beyond me. Especially a company like Remington that has the tooling and expertese to engineer a superior ML'er from the ground up like NULA did. They really screwed the pooch when they passed up Henry Ball's project. He took it to them first and they politely told him they had their own ML'er project in the works. Soon after that they came up with the now discontinued 700 ML that had a number of "issues" and was not worthy of the Remington 700 name. One can only wonder what fine firearm would have resulted if they had picked up rights to Henry's design.
I think it was right of them to discontinue the 700 ML before it did more damage to the Remington name.
I guess we will have reserve judgement on this new offering until we see the new rifle shoot but if it is one of the imported inlines we are seeing sold under otherwise good names made in Spain then Remington has screwed the pooch AGAIN.

After viewing the PDF file listed above I see Remington is recommending three pellet, 150 grain (27,000 psi) Pyrodex loads in these rifles. I wonder what they are proofed tested to?
...for him there was always the discipline of steel.

They all hold swords, being expert in war: every man hath his sword upon his thigh because of fear in the night.

I for one can not wait to get my hands one, but then I have two 700's that have been and continue to be great...  I can not even use one of the new guns during our ML season but I am still going to get one - black synthetic with SS barrel.

So far every account of the use of one that I have found indicates a very good firearm.  Remington released a few of them to the public last year, to work any of the bugs - the few comments I have read in the trade magazines have been favorable. And now with the release of these more people will be able to discuss them.

I have looked at most of the major distributors, bass Pro, cabelas, they do not have them other wise there would be one on the way as we speak...

I'm pretty they are made over seas, probably by the same company that makes traditions - in todays world that is capitolism working at it finest.... Can not say i really like it but that is the way it is.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

I'm with you on that, mt_jeep! Aint no one ever going to pry my Huntsman outta my hands any time soon, God willing. My Huntsman is the least finnicky muzzleloader I own out of 7(3 Whites, 2 Knights, 1 T/C & 1 NEF), my favorite and the least expensive too.

I just like to look at what's new out there and get some conversation going. It is definitely made by whoever makes Traditions these days, the Traditions Yukon is almost the same thing except the block drops on theirs instead of swinging out.

Here is a little more info on the Genesis.

Busta

Shoot! Busta your article shows me a weakness in the design that I probably will not be able to adjust to... DANG!

Mounting a scope on a Genesis takes some care. You must allow clearance for the swinging block so that it will clear the rear bell. I chose a Bushnell 3-9X designed for a shotgun, since it afforded a full 6 inches of eye relief.
Keep shooting muzzleloaders - they are a blast....

I hear you Busta... I was preparing my Sidekick for a ML hunt in IL and took my best 100 yard load to the 200 yd range just to see if the accuracy maintained itself.  It was a windy day, so I only fired one group of three which measured 4".  That's good enough for me.

I'll take American made accuracy like that any day... the NEF has to be the best "bang-for-the-buck" in inlines.  Plus it's a snap to clean.

Good shooting

Ain't that the blessed truth.  You talk about an affordable ML that is quality built.  I would reccommend that gun to anybody.

You know you did well when everyone wants to copy you.  T/C obviously did well with the Omega-style action.  Pretty much nothing popular anymore except Omega-style and break-actions....bolt guns are fading fast!

That being said, I might get a custom bolt smokeless one of these days just to try something new.

DuPont sells Remington subsidiary to New York venture capital firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice - Remingon Arms Company Inc.; Clayton, Dubilier and Rice Inc
I have lived through it. Look forward to more great products to come.

No chance I am buying one of those. Remingtons should be high quality USA made firearms, not Imports. I wouldn`t trade you my used Sidekick for 2 new Remington muzzleloaders  Jack.

Found a new report on the Genesis. This report is confirming what my first impression of this rifle was. I will reserve my final judgement for when I have examined one for myself. I suspected that the receiver was painted pot metal, looks like it really is.  Remington is slipping away, day after day and it looks like they don't even care. :?

I agree Busta and the new 700`s are horrible in my opinion and their new butt pad is even worse and I was a huge 700 fan in .270 Win. It even seams with the new pad the pull has gotten shorter on them and now they feel horrible to me. Jack.

I own a USA built stainless Huntsman.  Why would I even consider owning ANYTHING else when I now own what I consider to be one of the finest ML out there?

BUY USA!

I just traded a Pursuit Lt with scope only shot a few times for a Huntsman without a scope and without the breechplug tool and looks to have been shot more than a few times and I traded even and believe I got the better of the deal. I now do not own any Spanish muzzleloaders and will likely never buy another one. The Pursuit was the worst trigger I have ever experienced on any firearm of any type ever. I worked on it for two hours and finally made it just acceptable but not great. The design is somewhat difficult to fix. Looking forward to working with the Huntsman and may buy one of the smokeless barrels for it later. Presently have a stainless Omega, T/C Hawken .54, Hawken .50, Lyman .50 flinter, and now the Huntsman.

Keith,
Wait until you start shooting it if you haven't already.  Might be your favorite front stuffer.  Have fun!

Jeff-B,

I know about the + (magnifying glass) feature, that is what I was referring too. My browser has a magnifying glass with a + or - inside the circle.

I personally do not  care if its made in the USA.
Most of the foreign made stuff I have bought is way better made than MOST things made here.   Like my Toyota P/U or my Nikon camera or My Hardy fly reel I could go on and on..  I would not hesitate buying one but I like the looks of my Spanish made   Tradition pursuit pro better.
