Does Colt still make single action revolvers?
« on: February 03, 2006, 05:25:25 AM »
Have been kicking around buying a New Frontier .22, or .45 LC. No problem finding one, but I am curious if Colt is still making them. The only thing I could find for a Colt web site was for law enforcement and military armament.

Yes, they still manufacture the Single Action Army.  Below is a link to their commercial website.

I have seen it reported in several places (by someone that works at the plant) that they sold all the tooling for scrap.

I see they use the phrase ".45 Long Colt".  I guess that settles THAT argument!!

I recently read an article from a man who toured the Colt shop.  He said they were still producing the SAA.  I've seen a few new ones for sale in the gun shops lately, but only in 44-40, definately not my prefered caliber.  44 Man

That sounds like good news.  Maybe it was the double action tooling they scrapped.

Colt is making the SAA, but has not made the New Frontier in many, many years.
