Berry's copper plated bullets
« on: February 03, 2006, 10:37:48 PM »
Though I would try some of these, purchased some from Cabelas. I havent been able to find very much load data for copper plated bullets. I purchased 125 gr. hollow points in 38 spl. Looking for load data, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I use them (Berry's) very frequently, as well as Rainier's bullets.  I use the same load data found for jacketed bullets of the same weight.  Even though there is a slight difference between jacketed and plated, they are very close to the same pressure levels.  Just work up according to what a reliable manual says for that weight in a jacketed bullet and you'll be fine.  Just watch for signs like always when working up loads.

The Lee loading manual has quite a bit of load info for plated bullets.  I heard that using the low end of jacketed data was ok.
