Major Problem?

Well, something totally unexpected happened today at the range.
I was shooting some 125 grn. winchester winclean .357's out of my model 15, and....well, that little nub right below the cylinder that keeps it from sliding back too far when you're loading the gun just sorta...flew off. I sit here typing right now with the gun in perfect condition minus...said nub, which lay next to it.
Is there any way to replace this thing, or..will a new sideplate work? I notice that numrich gun parts is currently out at the moment..
What's the consensus here as to what I should do, and how severe is this problem?

Very common problem.

If you have the piece, it simply inserts back into the hole from whence it came. You'll need to adjust it's protrusion so that it holds the cylinder in place, but doesn't hang up on cartridge rims.

Once that's done, remove the sideplate and either a) stake it, or b) silver solder in place.

Personally, I prefer option (b).
