What can be done to Blackhawk topstrap to make it 'softer'?
« on: February 06, 2006, 06:12:14 AM »
Does anyone have any pics of Blackhawk topstraps that have had the edges and front re-profiled?  These sharp, square edges are UGLY.  I don't need/want it as thin as a Vaquero topstrap but somewhere between the two extremes would be nice - notwithstanding the rear sight issue.  Any thoughts appreciated.
If I have seen further, it is because I have stood on the heads of Giants - Sir Isaac Newton

You can have it reworked but it may be easier to start with a Vaquero and have an S&W sight installed. I like the Blackhawk look myself except for the ears at the rear which should be perfectly flat to look like the old Flat Top, one of the nicest guns ever made.
