Opinions of the MRI Lone Eagle???

Browsing the CDNN Catalog I see they have very good prices on the remaining Lone Eagle guns.

I know that they are discontinued, but are they any good?

I had a 30.06 w/muzzle brake for a short time, but it was too loud and recoil was terrible.

Thinking about picking up either a 30-30, a .35 Rem or a 7-08.

For less than $300 including rings and mount, are they worth the money.

Can they triggers be worked on to reduce the pull?

I have three barrels and two grip frames. I personally am ticked at magnum for quitting. I love the products dearly and will continue until I am dead. :eek: Not many people know this, but the barrels were made by one of the big AR clone makers. My .223 barrel is exceptional. I found the trigger very easy to adjust. A drift pin and a flat surface to sand on and it is done. I got my pulls very light and consitent. :biggun:

Edyal- is the trigger adjustment on the Lone Eagle something an inexperianced person (myself) could be walked through, or do I need to take it down to the smith? I've done minor work such as bedding, but nothing on triggers. The trigger on mine is awful, but otherwise it's a dandy little gun.

the lone eagles are fine shooters,especially at their current pricing,but beware of magnum research.
their customer service is the worst,and their replacement parts come at a premium,and most parts are available only from them.
I ordered 2 complete desert eagle pistols and hundreds of dollars in accessories,only to get a parts gun in different finishes,without a magazine,in which the safety came apart.
$1200 pistol that falls apart.
all the lttle safety pieces cost me an additional $150
I will never buy another magnum research product again,and I will be sure to tell everyone I see,how I was treated by magnum research.
I have since traded one of my desert eagle pistols straight up for a ruger 357/9mm convertable,and the other is hanging on the wall still missing the safety,becuase the folks at magnum research dont know the difference betwwen the right safety and the right safety lever.
the schmucks sent me two right safety levers,lol,guess they figured I needed extras!

I've seen the add also a few months back.  While it seems like a decent price, on the off chance something goes kaput, are parts still avail. for discontinued models from MRI?  
    I'd rather buy a Competitor http://www.competitor-pistol.com/.  They were designed by I was told the same person as the Eagle after leaving MRI.  Unlike the eagle, you change the barrel not the entire action.  This makes multiple chamberings cheaper.  Also A LOT more chamberings avail.  TONS MORE!  I have shot these in a few diff. chamberings and they were superperbly accurate.  After two more Ruger SAs, one will be coming my way.  I also, believe the rr sights are drilled/tapped to accomodate the same sights as Contenders.
