edit: i am not trying to say that we can't grasp technicalities. it is just that some recent research I did on the subject of stainless steels used in rifles did leave ME shaking my head! i took a while looking at the chemical compositions and other factors involved in those metals before i figured out that Remington could be right about using "416"-grade stainless in their Model 700 sps barrels. Weatherby advertises that they use "410" in the Vanguards. I figure that they both make good rifles and wanted to know why the difference. it was not easy getting the info', and some of it was tough to understand. anyway: that's my story and i'm sticking to it!
