I have a SRH that I decided was to bulky. I am considering trading it for 5.5 RH or having the barrel shortened to 4". What would you suggest? Does anybody have any pics of a shotened SRH?

Strange you should ask. I just shot a Super Redhawk that was chopped to approx. 2.5". Two Federal factory 240 gr. loads was all I could take. Man, did that ever sting my hand! This was with the rubber/wood standard grips. A friend wanted a carry 44 mag and he's happy with it but I'd need a bit more weight to help with the recoil. On the other hand it sure looks good. Next time he brings it to the range I'll pass when offered a shot.

Check out the mag-n-port web site-they show a SRH cut to 4 inches

Steelbanger, I can imagine that thing packed quite a whollop. I would think a 4" SRH would not be any worse than a 4 5/8 SBH.

I had my 9 1/2" SRH shortened to 6" but it was so long ago I can't remember what it cost. At 6" the recoil isn't a problem.

I decided I will chop the barrel on the SRH as soon as I can raise the greenbacks.
