« on: February 09, 2006, 02:41:54 PM »
Hi all... Looking for the Winchester Model 70 Safari Express .375 H&H.  Where in the world can I still get one (and at a price that isn't gouged!?).  Any help or leads would be great.   :D

We're on the right track anyways.  Looking for a new model Safari Express Model 70 .375.. I have found a few others out there, but I am stuck on this model  :)  Found one in .416, looking for 375.  Still searching, any help would be great.. I'll keep checking Auctionarms, Gunbroker, and Gunsamerica - my calling days are over  Hehe  :D  Appreciate it

The .416 was at the Sportsman's Warehouse down in Memphis, TN.  Called to check and see if it was still there, and they said it was gone.  Too bad I'm so set on my ways or I would have bought it.  Still in search!!  :D

I just talked to Sportsmans Warehouse in Coon Rapids, MN, and they called around and said that their store in De Pere, Wisconson? 920-336-7000, had a model 70 Safari in 375H&H. They would not do store transfers with Winchesters, but you could call them to do a FFL transfer.

Good Luck,
Jim

Jim,

Thanks for checking.  Their Depere, WI and Memphis, TN had them at one time and they have yet to update their system.  They had me goin on the whole Depere, thing - Had the credit card info ready and was going to have it transferred to my FFL until he tells me that they are gone!  Too bad, still searching - will not lose faith.    I can think about it like this:  Long as this goes the way it is, it means money in the bank Hehe

Found my gun today, NIB Winchester Model 70 Safari Express .375 H&H.  Ended up paying $1099.99 for it.  About 100 bucks more than the store that usually has them around here, but that's fine with me.  All thanks to a tip from a GB user  :D  You guys rock.

How about a super grade in 25-06, 270, or 30-06 for $1500.  Is it worth it?

if you have always wanted one sure... but its all in your opinion!  Its about $600 more than they use to be.. I would check around first only after all possiblities gone..  check with gun broker, gunamerica etc... they will have one for less at soem point or another.. :D

Same item was on CDNN abouty a month ago, right after the Winchester news, for about $880 or so.  I cannot believe it is over $3k...
