re-barrel rem. mod 7

if i remove a 7mm-08 barrel for a rem. mod. 7, can i replace it with a 243win. or 308win. barrel from a rem. mod. 700?  thanks for any input.

I have installed a model 700 barrel on my model 7.  The threads are the same but I had to turn a little off the chamber end and the barrel shoulder to get the headspace correct.  You should have the headspace checked if you make the change.  The 22" barrel balances a lot better than that little short barrel that comes on the M7.  You will also pick up over 100 fps with the longer barrel.  Good luck.
