well, in September i could pop a bottle at 200 yrds with my .17. now i take it out and it's surfing around the 100yrd target. couldn't have been the mount but i reset it anyway(loctite), checked the rings. took it out same thing happened after 2 nicely touching rounds then did an oblong circle of impact points. aside from cleaning i never took anything apart. it wears a BSA Sweet .17 3-12x40 which i blame right now.

You might check the crown for damage and also inspect the bore for copper fouling. Usually after cleaning it will take a few shots for the clean bore to settle back down.
For copper fouling try some of the foaming bore cleaner. I use WipeOut. Good stuff
With the negligable recoil of the 17 i wouldn't think it would be the scope but anything is possible. :D

i had cleaned it and the crown is fine. oh then i looked at the windage turret. I noticed it didn't always actually adjust, it'd just click around in one spot, i'd stop back click and then go forward again then a few clicks would respond but then it'd stop again.

That don't sound real good. Sounds like it's time for a different scope. :D

I have never had a BSA scope but I think it's because somewhere I have heard they have problems like that....<><....

Never owned a BSA before,  the salesman at Sportsman's Warehouse recommended it for the .17 HMR cartridge.  Scope looked good so I thought I would give it a try.  Very disappointed with the instructions on how to set the scope after zeroing it in.  Had a hard time finding the right allen wrench to fit the three turrent knob set screws.  Then it is not accurate at the ranges marked on the turrent.  Guess I'll go back to a Bushnell, at least they work.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Dude!
Your having problems with a scope and you want to sell it to someone else???

If you're not sending it back to the factory, trash it, don't pass on your troubles.
