All right guys tell me about this press,i got it on ebayfor 60 bucks ,and it needs alot. i need shellplates and carriers for 38/357,223,44mag.a 3 hole turret or 2, and the other stuff for the powder and bullets on top lol.Almost new huh lol.anyone have any knowledge on these and or spare cheap parts.Even a source or two to find some would be a great help,these parts are available thru midway and lee but im trying to be frugal(ok damn it CHEAP0)let me know thanks Mike :lol:

They are a 3 holer.. Midway had the lowest prices I could find

I like mine so far. I just got mine a month ago or so, was a big learning curve having used my RCBS JR3 single stage since the late '80s.

Get everything timed right is the most difficult thing. Be sure to use full strokes, a partial wont index the shell plate completely and you'llhave to turn it with your fingers.

Keep the primer hopper somewhat full too. The weight of the primers is needed to push the next one in to the gate.

Avoid getting the auto bullet loader. ..they are a turd to get working right. If you do wanna try it, be sure to use Lee's seating die with the beveled mouth so it will open the jaws. Straight mouthed seating dies from other makers will just cause a crushed/sut loading jaw-thus leaving you with a trophy for your garbage can.

Lee will refurbish a press for a fee. You can buy toolheads, shellplates etc. at most supply houses. I use Midsouth Shooters Supply and Midway the most. You can also buy spare parts direct from Lee.

Get a couple extra of the plastic indexing gears for the shellplate, you will need them.

Mount the press to a solid bench. If not level, tilt the press towards you so the primer feed system has all the help gravity can provide.

The casefeeder system works well.

Go slow and steady, my Pro 1000 doesn't like to go at warp speed.

Thanks guys i really appreciate any help with this ,im a virgin reloader :oops: ,but i really would like to be proficiant at it. I have the shell plate carrier and plate for 40 s&w if anyone would consider a trade for a #1,4,11 shellplate . So i guess i need the turret and? .Powder dispenser bullet feeder tubes, anything im missing?Let me know thanks Mike :?

Just my $.02, but I really think that you ought to get into reloading on either a single-stage press or a set of hand tools, such as the Lee tool.

There just is too much to absorb without throwing the progressive aspect into the mix.

JMHO of course. Perhaps I'm just mechanism-challenged. I had fits setting up my Dillon the first time.

my pro 1000's can be a pain. Gave up on the primer system for small primers. Kept jamming. The large primer system works OK. I believe that you are not supposed to use Fed. primers as they will detonate sometimes (did happen to me-missed it in the instructions). If you are not mechanically inclined, I would not recommend the 1000.
