I carry a pistol 100% of my waking hours. On duty, I carry a service size weapon. All other times, I carry a P-3AT. I have been of late, considering something a little larger. I have a couple of dozen pistols, and maybe half a dozen revolvers suitable for carry. Being a bit lazy, I opt for light and small. Of late, I am inclined to add thin to the list. My carry lately has been a Glock 36 in an "Action Direct" belly band/with the shoulder straps. It conceals quite well and is comfortable enough to wear all day. I just saw the new Kel Tec PF-9 on the KT web site. It meets all this lazy man's requirements for a 24/7 carry gun, light, thin, small, AND in 9mm. My wife and I currently own five KTs, two P-11s, two P3-ATs, and a P-32. One of the .380s required some tweaking, but now they are all as close to 100% as a mechanical thing can get. Obviously we don't need any more KTs. BUT!----------just had my dealer put two of the PF-9s on order.
Anyone else considering one of these?

I've read a little about them, summer is coming and I am thinking about something new and the kt is on the list. I like the 9mm
give us a range report when you get it in.

Acording to the KT website, the PF-9 will not be available untill May. I have my name on the waiting list with my dealer. If this time is typical, we won't see one before July! Damn!!

I'm definitely interested in one...
I really wish that they'd make a lower frame compatible with the p-11, but the PF-9's slide is about a 13'd thinner than the p11's, so I'm guessing that won't happen.
This ought to give Kahr and Rorbaugh a run for their money..I wonder how they'll be able to justify their prices once this thing hits.

There will always be a market for the Rorbaugh, a niche market where $1000 isn't too much for a pocket pistol. This new pistol might well have an impact on Kahr sales, tho I think it too would be fairly small. A lot of persons new to CCW usually think they can carry a bigger gun than the KT. It takes a while before they decide on a more pratical carry piece. I think the KT will be a big seller among those of us now carrying the P-3ATs/Bersas/Makrovs/P-11s. Ahhhh, what do I know!

I think your right, I carry a bersa when it is to impracticle to carry my XD. I like the thought of having a 9mm in a package the size of th KT.

this just may be one of KT's biggest sellers yet.

Heheh, I think you may be right, Savage...
This market you speak of, would this be the same one that purchases the $700+ bulgarian AK's and the same bunch that bought the 8 billion dollar "custom" 1911's back when you could just buy a Norinco frame and build it up from there and spend a good 1/8th the money?
If so, i think there will always be that market, but...
It will certainly take a huge chunk away from their market.
Especially once wives and girlfriends see the comparable price tags, eek!

I wonder if they improved the trigger pull, the old 9mm keltec was pretty tough. For a guy its not bad, but I was recommending one for a female friend of mine, and she hated the trigger. If you are getting one for the wife, just something to consider.

The new PF-9 incorporates the P-3AT trigger system. This is actually a pretty decent trigger. Still a little long, but about 5-6# pull weight, and pretty smooth. The P-11 is a true DA trigger, with the second strike capability. My wife has no problems with her P-11 doing defensive drills, considering a gun of this type is no range/target/plinking gun.

A fellow at the range had a Kel Tec .380 pistol that he had just purchased new. I don't know the exact model. He let me take a few shots and I was impressed. It's small, light, and seems to be well designed for the purpose to which it is intended.

I agree, the kel tecs are well designed for their intended purpose. Kel Tec took a real gamble producing this product in this price range. They are not for everyone, some require some attention to get them to run right. I have owned six of their products, and still own five of them. The one I parted with was a P-32 that I sold to a friend. When the PF=9 comes out, I'll own at least one of those! I have dozens more pistols and revolvers, all with a price tag of several times that of the kel tecs. One of my kel tecs always finds it's way into my pocket or belt on a daily basis. I guess that tells you how much confidence I have in mine. I'm also proud to be able to support an American company!

I too like my p32 and am wanting this new nine pretty badly. The longish double action only is a plus in a defense pistol as far as legal defense goes.... Our lawyers in the gun club and the nra personal protection classes always have said it tends to negate the "you did not really mean to shoot" or the "it really was an accident" accusations that the opposing side wants to trip you up on.

Here's a pic of that new Kel-Tec PF-9...I am thinking of purchasing one when it comes out. I almost bought a P3-AT a couple of months ago...Good think I chose to wait. This PF-9 might just be the shorts/t-shirt weather gun I have been looking for.
