6 weeks to the day
« on: February 14, 2006, 04:15:18 PM »
after exactly 6 weeks,my 223 ultra fluted has come back from the factory. the transfer bar safety broke 10 days after purchasing it brand new and the factory installed all new internals-effectively ruining my 2 1/4 lb trigger job.oh well.time to start all over.i hope it will finally settle down and start shooting better groups than before it was shipped off.(3" groups @ 75 yds is NOT my kind of acceptable). if not it will be looking for a new home. i have loaded up umpteen different reloads in the hope for something better.time will tell.

With any luck, she'll start tightening up for you.

I've had rifles that took some time to find a load they liked, or to find some little "fix" for the rifle itself.

sealer,

Sorry to hear of your problems, hope they have it taken care of. There seems to be a rash of broken transfer bars lately and H&R/NEF better wake up.

SIX WEEKS for a broken transfer bar..........under warranty? I would be a little ticked at H&R/NEF, they can do much better than that. It was a brand new gun, I hope they didn't charge you for shipping? I hope they sent a call tag? I'm sorry guys, six weeks turn around on a broken transfer bar under warranty is horrible customer service. I know guys that have had a couple barrels fitted and a trigger job done in half the time.

IMHO, your rifle should have been fixed and returned to you in less than two weeks, max. Warranty work should go to the front of the line and be first priority. I guess some companies don't care enough about current customers and are more worried about future customers. Totally unacceptable to me! Sorry for the vent, but that really chaps my hide.

What twist did you get 1-9 or 1-12, I guess they had both in 2005? My .223 Ultra shoots good, but does not like any bullets over 52 grains. What grain bullets are you shooting? I hope you have better luck this time around, these guns will shoot with the right load.

i agree,6 weeks is too long to wait.
mine is 1:9 twist.so far it doesn't like anything that i have put through it.and i shot 100 rounds through it today. 45,50,52,55,& 60 grains. i have reloaded some more shells today with different powders and different weights. but it looks like i'm starting to run out of ideas.
thanks,dennis

Sorry, mines a 1-12 and that isn't going to help. :(
