Sadly I don't think their is an answer to your questions Greg. Patterning of shotguns is a very individual thing. Only you can determine how yours patterns and what choke tube gives the best patterns.
I'd hazard a guess it would be quite deadly to at least 30-40 yards but I think if it's avaiable #4 buckshot would thicken the pattern a bit and still have enough penetration. Even better in my personal opinion woult be smaller shot than buckshot. Maybe something like #2s or similar.
I don't really think anything you do is gonna stretch it past 30-40 yards and you'll need to see how it does to know that. I'd limit shots to about 30-35 yards if I wanted to locate them after the shot. If all you're trying to do is get rid of problem animals whether you locate them or not isn't so much of a factor and longer shots might do just as much good for you.
