How long do you stay?

When you make a stand for coyotes how long do you make it, 10 minutes-15-20-30 and why?

depends on the area.normally 15 minutes but up to 45 mins.those nice areas where you are up on the side of a mt with the sun to yer back and you can see for ever.some times it pays off.
my huntin rifle is safe from confiscation only while my battle rifle protects it.

kyote, I hunt mostly coyotes in the west, so I only hang out for about 10 minutes. If I get one I'll hang out a couple more minutes just in
case he had a buddy. This has worked well for me over the years.

Hmmm. coyote one.I believe I am about 60 miles south west of you..yea some folks don't have patients.and I can do the same huntin roads hoppin in and out of sets.I always set my watch soon as I start to call.Normally if one is around it will be there in 2-5 minutes.But I have had coyotes come in sooooo many times at the 15 minute mark.that I normally always stay till then.

I generally will sit out a stand for 20+ minutes, but here in the east things are different than out west. We'll get the occasional "charging" coyote that busts into a stand in the first few minutes, but more often here in SW Virginia, they come sneaking in through the brush after 15 minutes or so.

kyote, nothing wrong with 15 minute or 20 minute stands, unless your me lol. It all depends on the way you hunt and what works best for you don't ya think? :wink:
