I just got my first encore and I have found a holster for it, but I was looking for a sling and the hardware uses a barrell band. I have a ss encore and I can only find the blue barrell bands, do they make ss barrell band for SS encores.

all you will find is the blue form Uncle Mikes. I went with a rifle forearm on mine which has sling stud an front. If your forearm is wood you can add a nickel plated stud that screws in. Rubber grip your SOL.

I had a third hole drilled and tapped to match rifle forearm. can use either forearm now. I also use the forearms on a hanger bar. see pic at

Does anyone have a suggestion for mounting a sling stud on the butt of the encore rubber grip? The three screws in the grip cap seem to srtip in the rubber pretty easily. Therefore, I'm not sure if a sling stud mounted to the grip cap wouldn't just pull the screws out of the rubber after a little jerking around?

Check with Bullberry. I saw a Bullberry 35 Whelen Encore at a local gun shop and it had a replacement grip bolt that extended below the grip with a swivel on the end of it. I bought one similair to it from SSK several years ago for my Contender.

My Contender's wood/rubber handle has three small wood screws holding the butt-plate on. I slightly enlarged one of the three butt-plate wood screw holes to the proper size and inserted a wood-screw-type swivel stud in the handle wood. Works fine.
