Another thumbs up for Ruger
« on: February 24, 2006, 03:05:39 PM »
Well,I was home sick from work today but somehow I felt good enough to go out behind the barn and shoot 4 rounds off the bench with my new Ruger 77 MK II,338 win.mag. It's the wood/blue model and I had just gotten it back from having a new trigger installed for $60.00.The trigger is set a a nice 3 pounds.I was shooting factory Remington's 250 gr.Core-Lokts PSP's.The first two shots measured just .561" but after the second shot which intimidated me by knocking my hat off and the scope hitting me in the glasses, sending them flying, the third shot that I flinched off was 1-1/4 " from the first.I blame that poor shooting from not feeling good and I was actually mad at myself for flinching and not having it more under control so I made up for it by putting the fourth shot right between the first and the second for that nice little group of .561"The rounds printed just 1.320 " high of the bull with my bore sighted scope.Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
