New Remington Pump rifle????????????
« on: February 25, 2006, 03:20:20 AM »
:D

Hi:  Does anyone know if Remington will be coming out with a new version of their Pump action rifle, in addition to their new Semi-auto rifle? Any possibility of a greater varity of calibers?

Thanks,

Negative..  As far as I know they will not be..  I have been praying for the 7600 in 300 win 7mm..  If browing could make a pump at one time and still making an auto I would with that rem could do the same! :D

I am suprised that Winchester did not come out with a pump action rifle along with their new semi auto rifle. It might have been a good seller.

No new Pump Action from Remington, but they are supposed to replace the 7400 with a 750 Woodsmaster.

Patience gentlemen.  When Remington came out with the 7400, they came out with the 7600 the next year.  Will history repeat itself?  Time will tell.

The problem?

Whats the problem with the 7600? Looks great to me but they do need more caliber choices from 22-250 to 35 Remington and Magnums for you fans of that in the catologe and more carbine choices. I would be surprised to see the new 338 Federal in the 7600 even tho it looks like a perfect match. A light barrel version, Thats asking way too much even though they have the barrels on the shelf from the Model 7 and the 700 Mountain Rifle.

I'm with rich5674 a light weight version and may be in a shorter action pump may just be the answer to the question never asked say to fit around the 308 case family in say a 7600 mountain rifle configuration how many here would like one in say 260,708, 308 or maybe 358 any takers I would by at least 2 of them one in 708 and one in 358 in a short throw pump and while there tinkering with it they could do a little R & D on the trigger I love my 35 Whelen 7600 but it is a little heavy side

All I was asking for is a lttle flexability on the barrel and caliber choice. You've gone way too far for Remington. What you're asking for is a major retoolIng and new materials. If they didnt make a lightweight receiver by now they won't. Browning beat them to it. I don't know why they didnt, The barrel doesn't lockup on the receiver and the trigger is in its own assembly. Remingtons just another company run by beancounters not people with a feel for the market or the enthusiast. Another OLD Great American company going down the drain(Can you say Buick?)

Buick was in buisness over 100 years but fell out of touch with what people wanted. Couldnt keep up with the market after a 50+ year head start. Remington is being left behind by Sako, Beretta, Howa, Weatherby Vanguard, Browning. .Too bad.

I have no problem with Synethic stocks on hunting rifles. But whoever designed the montecarlo stock they are putting on Remingtons guns, 7400, 7600 , 11-87 never shot or mounted the gun, the top of the stock has a much smaller radius than the wood version and to me it feels like a knuckle to the cheek.
