I have a Browning 5 in the shop which the owner bought new in the 60's. The fellow had it blued and said after that the gun started failing to eject in cold weather. The gun is clean and I polished and lubed the mag tube, polished the chamber and checked the bolt spring. The fellow has always used high brass shells while pheasant hunting in some very cold weather. From what I've read these guns should function even with light loads and the rings on the heavy setting. After I did the polishing I fired the shotgun with standard game loads in about 50 degree weather and it did fine. This morning after leaving it in the truck all night at 25 degrees it became a single shot. I have thread on this subject on the Shotguns and wing shooting forum with several posts. I would appreaciate any advice. I know these guns have a loyal following and this one is in great shape otherwise. thanks. greer
