Late Model Uberti open Tops
« on: February 26, 2006, 06:30:06 AM »
I've been looking at Uberti Open tops for a long time, now I see it looks like they have come out with 45 Colt caliber and something called "Late Models" according to a a price list I got out of the 2006 Taylor & Co. catalog. I almost found myself getting one in 44 Colt, but held off, and now that 45 Colt is out there and I have the reloading stuff I need, I'm really wanting one bad.
I'm looking at the 72 open top with the Army grip.

I'm just wondering how these hold up under occasionl plinking, how are the actions on these, are the springs in them OK, ect...Do they do a good job on timing out of the box for most of them. I realize this is something that is luck of the draw these days too.

This would be my first Open Top, been looking at them for many years, now it's time to try one out I think.  I'm not planing on shooting it a whole lot, occasional plinking, most times just handling it and staring at it.

Anyone with any experience with these Uberti Open tops, please throw your 2 cents in if ys have time.
