Just bought a Contender with a .22LR barrel and TC 2.5X scope. I want to change the scope out to shoot .22 shilouette.

Suggestions please!

I would say it all depends on what type of silhouette shooting you are going to do.

I shoot NRA Field Pistol. I use a 3x12 rifle target scope and use the "taco hold". You can go as expensive as you want to. It will not take a beating from the recoil of the 22 but the turret knobs will get a workout and they may loose their adjustment ablility. I have had that happen with Lupolds and BSAs. Both have a lifetime warrenty and give quick service, but you are down for a week or two with both.

I really like the old Weaver T series. Not the best glass, but robust and repeatable adjustments. The Leupold 12X varmint scopes with the target turrets on the elevation are nice too.

Thanks guys. That's exactly the info I was looking for.

I knew I wanted a variable rifle scope to shoot shilouette...like I do with my air pistol (taco hold). Didn't think about the wear and tear the adjustment mechanism would take to shoot at rams vs. chickens. Good info.
