Matt, I asume that your rifle has the 24' barrel, with buckhorn sights, no checkering or sling swivels, and we are talking about the short tang correct? If so and if it has been re-blued or if the wood has been re-finished your still dealing with about a $1000.00 bill give or take a couple of hundred bucks, depending upon how nice of work had been done. I have owned about (12) 71's in the past 2 years, long tang, short tang deluxe and standard and with what you have described that is what the fair market is bringing or will bring for something that has been re-finished.
They sure are a kick to shoot. I run the 220's through them all the time, and load them light if I'm going to use them for banger bullets.
If you want to describe more about the rifle including your serial number I can tell you what year yours was produced. Measure the tang and leave a description and that will tell me if its a long tang or short tang, usually called pre-war guns. There are other variants as well but we have covered the basics.
Hope that helps,
