I guess this is the collection of complaints. I've written Cannon-mania off .

My last interaction with them was over a year ago and I will never buy anything from them again, stock or not. I had bought in stock items a few times was happy. I then ordered a custom item. Months went by with nothing. I sent emails and voice mails with no response. Finally six months had gone by with nothing. I then sent an email saying I would do a credit dispute and see about filing a fraud complaint with the state.

That prompted a quick and snotty response. David Ross said I had never responded to his previous emails. Hah!

He then offered an item of lesser value with a refund for the difference. The item arrived. The refund never arrived. I gave up at this point.

If the board wants to delist them or put caveats I'm fine with it. Just be careful about liabilities.

One thing to keep in mind is that Cannon-mania turns up easily in web searches while these comments won't. That means that people who don't use this board are vulnerable. If you have web sites of your own remove links to them and perhaps add links to this thread instead. This will change the ranking in search engines like google.

Today is December 1.

David Ross lives less than 100 miles from me, so the check should have been delivered by now by any means of shipment that I can think of, including in-person, making the trip using a little kid's tricycle, but it hasn't arrived so far.

I called Canadian Cannon Co. since the (6lb garrison cannon) on mania,s site was actually made by them. David had just emailed Bill for my order (a month late and a day after my phone call). However, the price of the cannon had gone way up. Price of brass yada yada yada. Anyway he sent David a new price list last April . Of coarse the site wasnt updated or whatever. Bottom line is David never ordered my cannon. Bill offered me a discount ,he said hes gotten other calls or complaints rather. I said I didnt blame him and I was just fishing for information. Trying to find out wether Im actually getting a cannon or not.. Ive decided to try a new tactic with cannon mania. Since all of your emails didnt seems to work, Ive sent him one begging him to send ANYTHING hes got in stock of equal value or my wife is going to kill me. Im willing to swallow my anger and pride just for a taste of brass and powder. I will keep you informed of my progress- Zeus_DD

You can add another item to your list of shattered dreams and broken agreements:

I ordered an item in May of 06 a (23" steel machined barrel 1.687 bore) I have contacted CM about 2 months ago and offered a trade for a Winchester brass Navy 10 ga. and a box of shells this would be about an evan trade, he said ok to the trade but to date no word at all from CM No items and or no refund.

Yes I had 2 orders going at that time one for the barrel paid,by a Bank of America money order and the other for( 2 ) 1/8 th scale models which was also prepaid by credit card . I also did not receive the 2 models I have pre-paid approx $725 Order # 1907- 9785-8042 for the 23'" barrel and the 2 models for which I suggested the trade.i have to date not received any answer for approx 2 months from David It is my understanding that the credit card companies do not help across State lines I live in Illinois.

I did submitt the complaint form to the State Attorney General 's office and included a paper copy to David @ CM

Hi all, I just found this site and a nice one at that, But I am sorry to say I ordered from CM a mortar $799 and have had the same problems. This item was and still in stock, I ordered it Nov13, 2006. Did the e-mail thing and no respone about 4 times and now trying to call, the voice mail says mailbox full. They billed my CC for the amount on 11-13-2006 so now I will try the ugly e-mail and see what happens before I file a credit card dispute. I wish I would have found this site before I ordered! I won't let this one go 6 Mo.

Well I called my CC co. on friday and filed a complaint with them, They told me they would reverse the charges and contact CM. Well see what they have to say soon! Damn I hate to go this route I just want the mortar!

As I watch this I cannot believe that it will continue for any length of time.
That is to say, if they're doing business this close to the edge, there will come a time (which may or may not be soon) when they're caught short and can no longer do business.

I e-mailed him once again yesterday... nothin to loose. He told me that he had a hard time finding my order, but that he would refund my money. It's only been two years, so I guess it would be hard to find.

He promised me a refund once before, but never came thru.

Later today he sent a second e-mail saying the check is in the mail.

Time will tell.

If his mood has changed, now is the time to ask again.

We have had an inquiry from David Ross about removing the warning. This is the the status of the complaints as of 09/21/2007.

RickK you seemed to imply you got a refund. Please be specific, did you get a refund?

Please dont remove these posts. He deserves the feedback he is getting., I just hope some how he loses his ability to do this.

Talked to one of my lumber suppliers yesterday and he said that David purchases a lot of white oak from him. So much that he orders extra to keep in stock.

As a follow up, still no word, or refund. or trade from David. I did make a request again (but I guess his mood has changed back) for the refund about a week ago but no word back; At this point this is a write off. I must agree that we keep up the warning and all of or the posts regarding his past business performance and can only hope that potential future customers avoid the problems that many of us have had in the past.
