Bellm trigger question?
« on: March 01, 2006, 08:39:31 AM »
i just received and installed my new trigger spring and hammer spring from Bellm TCs. i ordered the #3 trigger/sear and #44 hammer spring. everything went together great and i must say the trigger pull is much better. however, while a heavier spring, the #44 hammer spring i received is about 1/16" shorter than the factory spring. when dry firing (with the firing pin out) the hammer does not go all the way to the frame. it stops about 1/8" short and when i release the trigger tension it sometimes will not rebound to half-cock. the little t-slot pin pops out of the hammer slot. i replaced the new #44 with the factory spring and the hammer performs fine, falling almost all the way to the frame, making the firing pin just stick out on the other side. when i release the trigger the hammer rebounds to half-cock when using the factory hammer spring. anyone ever had this problem? also, this is my first encore, but can anyone tell me how much of the firing pin protrudes out on the cartridge side during firing? i see just the rounded tip of the pin.
