cz shotgun question
« on: March 06, 2006, 02:37:05 AM »
Is it true CZ shotguns are actually made in Turkey?  What's the general opinion on these guns?  I'm seriously considering buying a Bobwhite in 12ga.  Thanks!

Yes they are made by Huglu of Turkey. Really nice guns. My Bobwhite is a .410, a really petite little gun. They are well made and pretty well fitted and finished and for the money are a great buy.

I bought a Ringneck a few weeks ago.  I have only shot it 10 times at some skeet but it seemed to shoot really well (hit 8 of 10 which aint bad for first time shooting a new gun and the ones I missed was a double).

Overall quality seems very good, much better than any SxS's that are less money.  May only real compaint is the trigger pull is little heavy at 7.5 pounds.  Maybe not as good overall as the more expensive guns, but the jump up from these is a pretty big jump.

I wish it had selective ejectors, then it would be about perfect.

From my experience so far, I would say get one because they are worth the money.

I just got a 12 ga Ringneck, and I think it is a fine SXS.  By my fourth round of Skeet I was hitting 24/25.  Heavy trigger is the only drawback.  Anyone know a 'smith that can do a Huglu trigger job?

I have two CZs, both BOBWHITES, one in a 20ga. with 28" bbls. and a 28 ga. with 26" bbls.  For the money they are great little shotguns, have put a case of ammo thru each so far and no problems.  What made me decide to buy them was several years ago I picked up a used DeHaan SO 12 ga. with 28" bbls.  This gun has been my waterfowl gun for the past 3 seasons and it gets used in all kinds of weather and duck marshes.  Again it is a good SxS.  All made by Huglu, but the DeHaan is of higher quality in my opinon, also costs more.  I would reccomend them most heartily,  there are better SxSs out there, but not for this kind of money.

I got to dhoot the 720 and loved the balance and the natural feel of pulling it to the shloder. It just felt like it pointed itself.
