Model 94 feed problems
« on: March 07, 2006, 05:24:21 AM »
My uncle recently gave me a WWII era model 94.  The rifle appeared to be mechanically sound, so I gave it a good cleaning and headed to the range.  Accuracy was good, but the rifle would fail to feed about half the time.  The rounds would stick in the throat of the magazine and not come back far enough for the loading mechanism to pick them up.  I had to use a stick to dislodge them.  Any ideas on what might be causing this malfunction and how to fix it?

This is probably too late a reply to matter. But, this is what I would try. Take the magazine tube off the rifle or take the plug, spring and follower out of the tube and clean the crap out of it with a gleaning rod and bronze brush. While I had the spring out I would stretch it just a little (not much), put it all back in and try it again.
