First, my avatar. The picture doesn't show it very well - but my shoulder boards are gray rather than blue. I'm a Ch/Capt in Civil Air Patrol (USAF Aux). I'm with a cadet squadron. We teach leadership to young people and perpare them for military life.
I had to meet the same requirements as USAF chaplains, except for age and health - niether of which I could possibly meet
Prior to this I was a police chaplain.
Ironically, my civilian pastoral duties will soon take me to Brooks Army Medical center. One of my members was burned badly by an RPG while serving in Iraq. He's a good kid who was very active in church and helped out with our cadet program too. He was very badly burned - and would not be here if it were not for the courage of his buddies, who got him out of the vehicle, put out the fire on his uniform and got him to his feet and into the next vehicle in the convoy. They did all this under small arms fire. Talk about bravery......
But on to the topic at hand.....I haven't actually fired any of this ammo. I have worked it through the action - pulling the slide all the way back and letting it go.
Doing that, the HPs hang up consistently about 10% of the time. This happens with all mags - including the two factory mags. It seems to happen when there are 5 or fewer rounds in the magazine. I would say that the mag spring was too light - but it it so stiff I have to use a loader to get the rounds in.
I probably need to take it out to the hang and run a box through it - but this kind of makes me nevous about depending on this stuff (Win 115gr HP). I think they will probably jam when fired too.
Thanks again for your help - AND FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR NATION!
