Rear Adjustable sight for Blackhawk
« on: March 07, 2006, 03:54:14 PM »
Is there an aftermarket rear site for the Blackhawk. The blade broke as I was trying to adjust (pushing it further to the left). I can order standard from Numrich, but would like one with a little more movement. After sending the gun back to Ruger twice to have the front sight replaced, now it seems straight, but even with the rear sight adjusted all the way to the left as far as possible, the gun still shoots slightly to the right. If I could move the rear site just a tad more top the left I could have center accuracy. I may have to do something custom to solve my problem. Any thoughts??

I install the Bowen rear sights on the Rugers I convert.  Given the information you are stating though, you may want to see how much your barrel is bent.

bowen sights are much better sights but what really needs to be done is to have your barrel turned.

Instead of sending this Blackhawk back to
Ruger for the 3rd time, I think I  will find a local gunsmith to turn the barrel so I can get accuracy within the adjustable sights. Is this a difficult task for the average gunsmith, or should it be fairly eay for him?
