Hello VM

Just curious, where in Miss do you hunt?

Went scouting up near Columbus in the North Central part of he state where I've hunted with my son-in-law the past 3 years.  Didn't see any birds but they are there.  Miss is a great state for turkey hunters.

Good Luck this season.

I reckon so....

Saw 8 gobblers in a field on Sunday in North Texas--looks like they are still flocked up, there were no hens with them.  Three of them I'd like to see in April (their beards were hanging to the ground).

NO GOBBLING either.

This old man that move up there has a small farm it is like 250 a.. And he is going to let me hunt it. If i get to go. :D  This mor i got up i have winter wheat planted in my back yard there was 10 hens out in it they got within 10 yards of the house. One of the hen's had a beard. This afternoon around 3:00pm look back out there and there was 19 turkeys 16 hens and 3 long beards. The long beards never came out of strut... And the bearded hen didnt come back with them. I am going to put my trail cam out i think and get a few pic.s of them. VM

I saw about 20 in one group yesterday on my hunting lease.  They were in a food plot on a pipeline.

Last Saturday, March 11, in central Okla, they were gobbling and yelping like crazy already, sounded just 100 yards or so from me.  I did a very unrealistic mouth yelp a few times, and most of the time one or more gobbled in response.  They are definitely already fired up, and so am I!  Gotta wait til april 9th - season starts 6th, but I can't get out til Sun the 9th.

Here in West MI, the Toms' are starting to harass the hens. I had 5 big Toms strutting in my backyard yesterday morning. Should be another good season. I have the late season , which is the whole month of May.
