Round 3 of Which Gun??? Questions about the SBH Hunter
« on: March 24, 2003, 05:12:43 AM »
Hello again!  I just wanted to get some final opinions before I make a purchase.  Local gun dealer is having a 12 month free finance sale.  No interest, finance charges, or down payments. Just divide the price of the gun by 12 and thats your payment for a year.  Hard to turn that deal down!!  Here's what they have:

Ruger Super Redhawk 7.5"  $549
Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter $549
Ruger Super Blackhawk 5.5" & 7.5" $429

Are these fair prices?

I like the SBH Hunter, but is it really worth $120 more than a regular SBH?  What does it offer more than just the integrated scope mount?  If thats the only difference it would be hard to justify that gun especially since I probably will use it open sighted mostly.  And the SBH Hunter is the same price as the Super Redhawk?  Is there any difference in these besides DA and SA?

Again, thanks for everyones help!!!

One thing that I have found as I have gotten older, is that the eyes aren't what they used to be. Just recently I've found that I need reading glasses to get through the morning newspaper, yet my eye exam about a year ago showed my vision to be 20/20. I have also taken to using more optics on my handguns, just for the improved sight picture. With either the redhawk or the super blackhawk hunter, I would opt for the integral scpoe mounts.

As far as price. I believe what you have listed to be in line with what I have been seeing in my area.

Hi,
I paid $469 + tax last year when I bought my Hunter 44.  In fact, the reciept is right here and it shows out the door, $502.89.  So, you may find it lower but if you are going to finance it, its probably all the same in the end.  At least its not all out of pocket at once I guess.  GS

I just bought 2 (new in the box) SRH revolvers.
1. 44mag in SS  $495
2. 454 Casull     $549
Both of these prices are below the normal retail but deals are available.
