Zack I love my 30-06.  I have it sighted in for 300 yards and get 3" groups with it at that range.  I use it for shooting out to 600 yards, 700 if the target is standing still.  I miss a lot of the 700 yards shots, and some of the 600 yard ones.  But 400 and 500 yards seldom miss.  The fur goes on the streatcher.

I too liked my .30-06 Handi.  Never shot it as far as Sourdough, but then I can't see that far through the rain!

Seriously, I have shot a fair number of .30-06 rifles, and the NEF is the nicest to shoot I have ever had (other than my issue M1, but that was long ago in a different part of the world).

Where you been, Zach?

I like my 30-06. Shot my last 4 deer with it. I don't shoot long range with it and am happy with hunting accuracy. Mine shoots 150 grain Winchester Powerpoints well and I don't reload.

Zach:

I don't know how they will do out of your new 30-06..but the 150 grain Federal Fusion ammo would give me sub 1/4" groups out of my Ultra-Comp barrel off a rest...if you can find some of it in your area..I'm quite sure it will do a good job for you..

Best single cal for ammo and shooting in my life. Nothing has come close to the durability of the 06 in my life!
