Newbie question...

I'm trying to pick up some ML supllies before taking my new Sidekick to the range.
I've never owned or shot a ML before, so I'm sure there will be many more questions to follow.

But for starters:
What are the dimensions of the threading on the Sidekick's ramrod?
Is this a common size or will I need to buy some sort of adapter?
What attachments will I need to buy?

Here's the supplies I either have or know I will need:
Bore cleaner, bore butter, breech plug grease, bronze brush,
sabots, 777, primer caps, cleaning patches.

Is there anything else I'll need?

I don't have a Sidekick, but you might consider using teflon plumbing tape instead of the grease, I switched and it's made a world of difference in breech plug removal over using Gorilla Grease or anything else I've ever tried. TC sells their brand tape, too.

Do yourself a big favor and buy a range rod for 10-32 threaded attachments, the threads on the supplied ramrod are an odd-ball 8-32 thread and the jag is pretty much worthless (patches slide right off). They do make an adapter that some have purchased 8-32 male end to a 10-32 female but it wont have the threads to lock your ramrod in the closed position. Do a search, you will probably find more information on the ramrod. I had a couple jags custom made to fit in the place of the factory jag, it has both sets of threads to lock the rod in the closed position, has a tip for loading pointed tipped bullets and has usable rings for holding a patch. I always use a 33" Knight T-Handled range-rod for cleaning, loading, range work and only use the collapsable rod for a follow up shot while hunting.

I'm with Busta, get a range rod. I also carry a bit of water wit me incase I run outa spit. Some of my range sessions last sunup to sun down just to eleminate the frustration from my pitiful job. That will change in 2 months.

Quick have you tried the thicker type gas tape yellow in color seems to be just the ticket.

All above good ones,  here's another one or two..   I use NAPA's Copper anti sieze for breech plugs.. never had one refuse to come out..   I like Fantastik  for cleaning, comes in a spray bottle.. one patch wet , turn over once,  one dry patch, and reload.  (for range shooting).. for hunting, I use patches lubed with bore butter,  once down, turn over, down again,  load!..  It helps ease sabott loading.   My rifles like two 50/50 Pyro pellets behind a 250 gr shockwave  (black sabot, 451 or 452 250 gr bullet)..
