Does anyone know of a public range somewere in central ohio were we can get together for some shooting before the PD shoot .

The reason that i'm thinking central Oh. is for drive time to and from , so no one has too far to go .

There are about 10 or 15 of us , so it should be a fun time to shoot the Handi's and the bull at the same time .  :)

It would also be a chance to put faces with names .  :D

try this:      www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/shooting/granges.htm

yes, that's right, they mis-spelled "ranges" is what probably happened.   the link above should get you to a helpful site.

'delaware wildlife area' has a 614 area code and 644 exchange so it's near Columbus is my guess.

Stimpy....

The one that safety sheriff is talking about is just north of Delaware if I remember correctly.  It's just off of Rte. 23, between 23, and the village of Ashley.  I would assume that everyone could meet up there this spring.  I know that last year since it was so wet, the Army Corp of Engineers were messing with the Delaware Dam, and I believe they didn't open it to let excess water out since all the waterways were already so full of water.  Anyhow, 229, the road that the range is on was flooded about 200 yds off of Rte. 23...needless to say, there wasn't any shooting going on at the range.  They even had to replace all the wiring in the shelter house at the other end of the lake....it was completely underwater!!!  Just the top of the flag pole was above water.  Anyhow, that sounds like a good place for everyone to meet up at...we need to come up with a date, and I'll at least try to be there even if I do miss the shoot again this year.

Thanks guys .

I will have mama give the ODNR a call this week and get some more info on the range .

It is a class A range that you have to have a permit for , there only $ 5.00 for a one day or $ 24.00 for a yearly , I'll have her check to see if there is some place close to the range to get the permits , The one days are only good for the date on the permit .

Sounds like a place to shoot and maybe throw some dogs and burgers on the a grill also for lunch .

I'll let everyone know what we find out .

I ran across this web site a while back, it looks to be handy for locating a range in unknown parts.

P.S....I forgot to ask...shaner, did you and stimpy already do that .45 colt deal?  Gonna say, if you met in the middle, you were like 10 minutes from me at the most.  If you haven't yet, and would want to, maybe we could all meet somewhere around upper sandusky(that should be right about half way, since the new rte. 30 opened up)

Central Ohio sounds good to me, heck I get lost going across the street!

Just need to know in advance so I know if I need to be awake that day, life on graveyard shift gets strange.

When would this happen?
And would non-Ohio people be allowed?
If so would anybody like to ride with me?
My route would be flexible:
Stafford, Virginia north to Maryland I270 to Frederick Maryland.
I70 from Frederick Maryland to Breezewood Pennsylvania.
I70 Breezewood Pennsylvania to Central Ohio (about Franklin I think).
This route is flexible if someone is along the way for pickup.

Thanks, Mike.

Right now i;m working mon. thru sat. , so a sunday would be best for me but i can twist off a sat. if need be .

The 9th. or the 23rd. of april would work , thats the sun. before Easter or the sun. after . Easter sunday is mama's birthday so thats out for me .

I'm putting a vote in for the 9th.  I have some training to do at the end of April, that would prohibit me from making it to the later date.  Mitchell...it's good to see that they let you in, even with the hearing stuff....don't worry, the drill sergeants will make sure you can hear them :-D .

Thanks stimpylu32.

Just hope the date works out.

That was the only reason I did not go to Alabama to shoot with  hellacatcher and the others.

Shaner

If we are good to go at your club , all we need to do is set a time to meet and an address so we can do a map quest to find the place .

I'm thinking like 10 AM start time . Do they have a grill , if so i'll bring some brouts and hot dogs to cook up for lunch .

It will need to re-sight-in all my handi's because i have been playing musical scopes .

The 9th at 10 works for me.  Stimpy, I can bring along deer brats too if you want, I made more than I probably should have this past season, and they aren't getting eaten near as fast as the burger.  I don't remember, but are we going to need to bring a fee to shoot that day, and are pistols allowed?  I'm hoping that GrampMike shows up with his Raging Bull that he just bought, and I'll bring my Blackhawk.  I'm looking forward to putting names with faces.
