Back in my college days I had a Siamese Mauser action with a new Shilen
barrel, but I never stocked it as I needed the money at that time more
than the gun. I wish I had beed able to finish the project.
That is a very nice set up.

Thanks.

Know anyone working with the .458/350 Rem. Mag or the .458x2 American ?

I think that'll be the next big movement here. The 458-350 Rem mag at 73.0gr.is interesting especially since I already have a Rem 700 Classic in .350 rem Mag.

Oh well, we'll have to see.

Thanks again

First of all, Thanks.

On the stock, the PO made the stock himself.  He used the Rigby .303 for the basic pattern.  He had The old Bishop stock company inlet the barreled action into a dense, straight grained piece of wood and leave extra wood all around.  He Also asked that the grip be left so that it could be rounded in the Rigby (or commercial British Mauser) style. He shaped the wood and fitted the pad.   He said that neither he  or Bishop thought that cross-bolts would be necessary, but  when loaded to nearly .404 velocities they were.
