Chamber Polishing Necessary

Is it necessary to polish the chamber on .223's. I have shot about 100 rounds and haven't had a stuck case yet. It seems to look smooth and I am not to sure of my self to try the drill trick. I also clean it after every 50 rounds. Let me know.

If you're not having a problem, I wouldn't worry about it, but if you change ammo, it could happen and if you don't have a rod with you at the time, it could be an unpleasant experience. It's not a problem on extractor equipped barrels, only the ejector barrels.

My .223 has the ejector and yes it sticks and occaisionally I need to drop a rod down bore to knock the empty out.
So how does one polish the chamber?

When you polish using the fired brass do you apply the Flitz or JB directly to the casing or do you put a patch around it?

No patch, just put it on the case or in the chamber.

One last question: Whats the easiest way to remove a primer. I don't have any reloading equipment and also what way to you push the primer to remove it.

The easiest way would be to drill it out, you're going to need to drill thru the flash hole anyway to start a screw in it. You could punch it out with a stiff piece of wire, but it needs to be small enough to go thru the flash hole.

It's punched out from the inside of the case.
