im currently looking for an after market stock that will fit my m77 mkII in 300 win mag. i preferably want something with a thumb hole...and i dont really care if it is wood or synthetic as long as it fits tight against the barrel and isnt really crappy :wink: . problem is i havent been able to find any. when i type in stocks for ruger on the net all i get is stuff about stocks for the ruger 10/22 . any suggestions?

You can buy a finished thumbhole laminated or walnut stock from Boyds or you can buy the same from Richards Microfit Stocks. Richards stocks come 99% pressfitted for inletting and then you have to finish them yourself.

i just got cabelas new catalog(the shooters / reloading catalog, not the master catalog) and there are some stocks for m77 mkII with the thumb hole. they are laminate and cost about 150 dollars...how much are the stocks you mentioned?

I've gotten stocks from Boyd's in the past and was pretty happy with them. Request a catalog from them. Sometimes having an actual catalog in hand is more helpful than looking at them online.
