i just bought a 700 varmint in 22-250.the gun had a new fajen stock and looked excellent on the exterior, bolt face, throat all looked good.well, after getting the gun home and doing some bore scrubbing it doesn't look quite so sweet.the gun appears to have seen some serious use, minor pitting and nicely rounded rifling lands.this was the first year of production for the 700 67' i think i was told.i don't think this rifle in current condition is going to perform up to my expectations.i am considering having it re-barreled,there are no local gunsmiths i would trust to do this if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate the info.i live in upstate ny would like someone fairly close that could get it done relatively quickly.thanks.adker
