what is the best pellets for a 400-440 airpistol? domed,pointed,match,or hollow point. i have use a domed to killed a dove at 15 feet.

are you shooting a 177 or 22 cal. sounds like your domed pellet worked just fine. I wouldn't be concerned about expansion- so the hollow point is mute. you may get a little better penetration with a pointed pellet and the pellet should stay in the pest without loosing energy passing through. Most use a domed pellet for long range accuracy. You don't have to worry about that. A match or flat head pellet isn't a bad choice. pick the most accurate pellet and go for head shots. Also you might try shooting different pellets at things like soap. It will give you an idea on the speed of the pellet and penetration.
There is no limit on what you can do, if you limit what you have been doing in the past.

thanks 8)  i want to kill some snakes i have been seeing around and some birds too with my .177.  in the past my marksman bbgun got the job done but it's gone now.
