When an army invades it should have something positive to take home . Other than Debt what was won ? How did the people of the North prosper from the invasion onto the South ?

When a state(s) suceed from it's Union, it also should have something to "take home". What was the south taking home?

CABIN4 , We are still paying the price of slavery , look at education - instead of bring everyone up to the standard of the white schools the white schools were in effect lowered to what all races could pass . Thios was an injustice to all . It followed into the job market , and most other fields . I think the buzz word was the DUNBING DOWN OF AMERICA !
But with regard to slavery , how else would the wealfare system be described ? If you try to better yourself they cut you off !

I get all the stuff about our public school system being a wreck. Its a disaster, no question about it. But to equate this to or somehow connect it to slavery is just too much a stretch. The problem with our public school system is we put" big unions" first and kids second. Teachers interests are first and foremast in our public schools. Second, is we have allowed liberalism to infect the morality of what gets taught and revision-history. None of our problems today in our public system are a result of slavery. Its just bad public policy and big unions run a muck...Today, we ahve alive case where a public school in Denver is conspiring with underaged pregnant school gisrls to keep the fact that they are pregnant from their parents. Bare in mind, these are underaged girls and therefor they may be pregnant via statutory rape!!!! Yet, the school still decided to keep this info from the goirls parents. This is a real life example of liberal big union run a muck at its finest.

Give me a break!! Since when is slavery still in practice? I suppose since we are looking at likly the first black president, we still have slavery........

 Slavery isn't practiced by anyone anymore except the government! It's called WELL-fare and minumun wage.
