Dakota vs. Mauser action...???
« on: March 17, 2006, 03:52:24 AM »
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between a Mauser 98 and a Dakota (the less expensive 97 round) action?  I was primarily concerned with how each handled the gas from a ruptured case as I have heard that the Mauser is very safe in this regard, but the pre-64 win is not as good, which I imagine tha Dak is based on.  Thanks!

I just wish I had not been a fool and sold the kimber of Oregon!
