Are all Stainless Synthetic stock Handis SB2 receivers or were some made pre 1987?  Thanks.

Ask H&R, Gordon or Jennifer may know the answer to both of your questions, their phone number and email address is in the FAQ.

The one I recently picked up has a nickle plate barrel too.

Check the frame serial number with the list in the FAQ, that will tell you when it was made.

Hi Tim, thanks for the advice, according to Jenn this rifle has a Stainless barrel not a nickel plate barrel as seller stated so good for me!  Jenn also stated this is in fact the SB2 frame so I can go hog wild on new barrels!  According to seller this gun was a display model at the H&R factory so never fired NIB, got it for $195.00, that a good deal?  I own several NEF shotguns and a stainless Rossi single shot in 357 mag so can't wait to shoot this new addition to my single shot collection.  Thanks again!

That's good news!! $195 is a great price for a SS Handi, in fact, I paid $200 for a .30-06 w/leupold rings about a year ago!! :agree:

Tim

In case you're wondering, this is what a blued barrel looks like on a nickel frame.....

And what mine looks like now with polished steel trigger guard and forend spacer...

Tim- Thanks for the pics, blue on nickel looks great.  I'm planning on eventually getting blue 45/70, 30/30, and 44 mag barrels along with a stainless 30/06.  Where did you get your steel trigger guard?  THANX!
