Curdog, I've called a few in my life. The big cats are about as stealthy as anything on earth, Seeing one in the wild is a rare occurence for most people unless they are using dogs.
I'm sure Oklahoma has a few lions, but not alot.  Seeing one would be an honor for sure considering a male lion takes up about 40 to 50 miles of personal terrritory and a female about 20 miles.
In order to have alot of lions, they must have the right kind of habitat. Mountians, hills, canyons, swamps and a good deer population well support lions.
Anyone can count themselves lucky to have seen one or more in a lifetime.........Good Hunting

Fellers,

We have a she lion with one cub running around the hills west of town here in Tucumcari NM. She has killed several dogs belonging to the ranches in the area. I guess the pickings are not so good back in the hills so she came to town.  We also have a nuisance Black Bear raiding things north of town, Not having dogs any more i am missing lots of fun, Oh well thats life in the fast lane i guess  .......Joe.......

It matters not to me who does what, Just come on down and we will have a ball. I think we can find some thing to get into that provides some entertainment. We have some Sod Poodles south of here about 35 miles.   :D  :D  :D .........Joe...........

Kyote

I' ll tell you what, The wind has not missed a beat here either. I think i know the area you are in and yes the wind does blow and the dust flys good. I spent about three weeks in alamo working on one of the housing projects and the wind blew all the time i was there. At night when i would get off work and take a shower the dirt would run like the mighty Rio Grande river (muddy). Snowed  here today which was much needed to stop some of the fires and make the weeds and grass grow. I told the Dept. of game and fish i could help with the bear problem but he said that they would take care of the bear ( hurt my feelings) Ha Ha No sence of humor i guess. Been loading some more 223WSSM's in preperation for the big Sod Poodle shoot come Fall. May just make some one real happy at the next gun show when i show up with a shinny Mod 70 Stealth 223 WSSM. Not too happy with it so far, But it might come around. Well I,am about out of ink so I better go :D ........Joe...........

The wind is all blowed out by the time it gets to you, Just a mild breeze. I was looking at the map and its a fur peice down to you alls country, Don't know if my little ranger would make it there or not, Wouldent drive through okie city for it. Them folks think us ol boys are targets from New Mexico Must be a bounty on us. I have killed quite a few hogs down on the border of New Mexico and Arizona and south a peice but never hunted with dogs. I did run dogs on Lion and bear for a while in northern New Mexico to the Colorado border. Had some one poison my two main hounds and have not had any since. Sound like you all have a great time with your dogs,,,, Makes me green with Envy. You all have a great time down there in OK :D  :D  :D ..........Joe.......

I sure do thank you for the offer to hunt wirh you guys but my health has taken a dip and don't think i would do very well getting through the brush.
Walking has gotten so bad the only way i can continue hunting coyotes is by driving to an area that i don't have far to walk and set up to do my calling. I looked up your area there and bet there is some good hunting.
Man!!!! getting old is the Spatters Bovine Style that is  Thanks again for the invitation Sir, Will be talking with you later :toast: ........Joe.....
