Just curious, how many of you go to 3-D shoots basically to keep up your skills on guesstimating yardage and what class do you shoot?

I don't use 3D matches to sharpen my skills. I have one pin sighted in at 20 yards and I hold a little low at 10 and a little high at 30. The bow is fast enough to take care of the rest. I know what game looks like at various distances and I also hang Tinks Scent Bombs as distance markers during deer season.

Practicing with one pin on my compound is good enough for me to put game in the freezer. Heck, with my recurve, I don't even bother aiming as such - I shoot instinctively. No sights, just a bare bow. Still manage to get my deer each year.

I do not so much these days. Just can't seem to find enough time. I rember it beeing more fun than actual practice. You only have thirty stations or so in a match. Very limited. If you consider the drive time and wating on the course you could shoot 300 arrows at home in 1/2 the time. Plus I can only remeber two or three courses that had evelated stations in my area. I like to pratice like I hunt, up at 25' or so.  But it was a good time.
