Marlin 1895 45/70 extractor
«

I am new to lever guns and do not want to sound to silly when asking this question. I was shooting today and had fired 6 or 7 shots with my Marlin 1895 45/70 and shells ejected fine. My next round that I fired would not eject when I opend the action. It was easy enough to hook the end of the brass with my knife and slide the brass out. I fired 3 more rounds and had the same problem. I am not real familiar with lever guns and was wondering if this is a extractor problem or am I missing something and if it is a extractor problem is it a easy fix or a costly fix.
Thanks, scott

I just got my 1895 back from Marlin last week. They replaced the extractor AND the ejector pin. Brand new out of the box, it would not eject cartridges.
If it's still under warranty, I'd ship it back to Marlin.
