Burris short mag. 3x9 or Leupold VXII Compact 3x9 ?

I just got a .243 brl for my Encore, this will be a deer and varmit gun. Want something light and compact, which of these would you choose?

Not that Burris does not make a good scope, I just like the Leupold a bit better
