I've had a lot of luck with Brenneke KO's and Remington Buckhammers. But each gun was different. I can print cloverleafs with Buckhammers out of my Browning BPS at 50 yards (using a rifled choke tube) but they were simply awful out of my Winchester Mod. 12 modified choke. The Winchester likes Brenneke's.

Coop, you may well have to try a couple o' different brands to find out what your gun likes best. Guns can be individualistic and have marked preferences as to what ammo they want to digest. I've used the Rem and Win brand fosters and get decent accuracy (2.5 - 3") out to 50+ yards w/ open sights and ammo costs are not too bad. I've also used the managed recoil slugs and had equally good results and, as a bonus, my shoulder is not bruised at all after shooting 15-20 rounds at the range. The managed recoil loads have a POI in my gun that is not all that different from the full velocity slugs so I can practice to my heart's content over summer and then with a minor sight adjustment change over to regular slugs come deer season.

Go down to your local sporting goods store & buy a flat pack of every kind they have.  Then head to the range & see which one your gun likes.  For a smoothbore, my favorite is the Brenneke's.  My brothers guns favorite is remington sluggers.

Brennekes are what I shot before I bought a rifled barrel.  Although, some of the bargain slugs are cheap enough to try different brands and save quite a bit of money. Some are very accurate as well.  for shots of fifty yards, any quality slug shoud do the job, provided they shoot accurately in your chosen gun/load combination.  I'm glad that I found slugs that work for me early in the game, those slug guns will loosen your molars!  Good luck!
